IIM Kolkata

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM-C) was the country’s first IIM, founded in 1961 by the Indian Government. It’s worth noting that the Government of India designated IIM C as a national institute in 2011. IIM Calcutta is one of the top Management colleges in India. Along with the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), the Government of West Bengal, the Ford Foundation, it was the first national institute for postgraduate studies and research in management .

In this Article,

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta is the only management school in India and one of only 86 globally accredited business schools that holds the Triple Accreditation. On December 15, 1968, Sri Morarji Desai, India’s then Deputy Prime Minister, laid the foundation stone for the Joka campus. In 1975, the Institute relocated to its current location. There is a spectacular location, seven water bodies, and a miniaturised Howrah Bridge on the IIMC campus, situated on 135 acres in Joka, a suburb on Kolkata’s southern outskirts. The IIMC campus is a paradise for a diverse range of unusual and rare species of birds.
