MPPSC Eligibility Criteria - Qualification, Age Limit, Special Conditions

The Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) sets the eligibility criteria for various exams conducted by it. Check below the MPPSC age limit 2022, educational qualification and eligibility related criteria for the State Service Exam 2022 and others.

Note for MPPSC 2022:
  1. All the candidates who are graduates or are in the final year of their graduation are eligible for the exam.
  2. All the aspiring candidates have to be registered with the employment office of the Madhya Pradesh state.

The MPPSC (State Service Exam) is conducted in three stages (similar to the IAS exam):

  • Prelims
  • Mains
  • Interview

The latest MP PSC updates for 2020 and 2021 are as follows:

  • MPPSC Notification 2021 for the State Service Exam is expected to be released in December 2021. 
  • MPPSC Notification 2020-21 was released on 28th December 2020. The commission has announced 235 vacancies for MPPSC State Service Examination. Candidates can get detailed information on the MP PSC Notification in the linked article.

MPPSC 2019 news:

  • MPPSC Mains Result 2019 is expected to be released in December 2021. The final selection result is tentatively planned for March 2022.
  • MPPSC Result for Prelims 2019 was out on 29th June 2020. MPPSC Prelims 2019 took place on January 12, 2020. Check MPPSC Result 2019 in the linked article.
  • In February 2019, MPPSC State Service Exam 2018 final result was declared.
  • The maximum age limit of MPPSC 2019 Exam is said to be relaxed till 35 for both domiciles and other candidates after the decision of Madhya Pradesh Cabinet for the same.

MPPSC Eligibility 2022

The MPPSC Eligibility Criteria are as follows:

  1. The candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. Male candidates with more than one wife (living) are not eligible
  3. Female candidates who have married a person already having a wife (living) are not eligible.
  4. Candidates claiming age relaxation/reservation in more than one category for the MP PSC Exam shall be entitled to only one concession, whichever is more beneficial.
  5. Candidates who are declared guilty by the court for a crime against women will not be eligible for the examination. However, the candidates against who the court verdict for the said case(s) are due, may sit for the examination but will be posted only after the final verdict is out (And he/she isn’t guilty).

MPPSC Age Limit

The age limit for MPPSC Exam are detailed below:

Minimum age 21 years
Maximum age 40 years (Candidates should not have attained 40 years)

45 years – For Women (UR, PwD), Men, Women (SC, ST, OBC etc)

Uniformed-Post
Minimum age 21 years
Maximum age 33 years (Candidates should not have attained 33 years)

38 years – For Women (UR), Men, Women (SC, ST, OBC etc)

The age limit will be computed as of 1st January 2022. 

The MP PSC notification has listed the age relaxation for different categories/posts in the State Service exam eligibility.

Note: MPPSC Reservation will be as per the provisions of Madhya Pradesh Public Service (Reservation for SC, ST and OBC) Act 1994.

MPPSC Qualification

The educational qualification for the PSC exam is:

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised University or equivalent qualification
  • Candidates possessing professional and technical qualifications, which are recognized by the State Government as equivalent to a professional or technical degree

The PSC exam eligibility also includes Physical Measurements/Fitness for certain posts. Candidates have to undergo a medical test after the interview to be considered eligible.

  1. Sir is there any other reservation quota or cut off relaxation for ex serviceman in mppsc mains exam???

    • Hi
      The Commission states, “A candidate who is an ex-serviceman will be allowed to deduct from his age the period of all defence service previously rendered by him provided that the resultant age does not exceed the upper age limit by more than three years.” The maximum age limit is 35 for MP residents and 30 for candidates from other states.

    Maine Engineering Indore ke SGSITS college se kiya hai jo ki ek PTDC (part time degree coures) hai. Jiski degree RGPV bhopal deta hai. Kya Mai mppsc aur upsc ke exam ke liye eligible hu.

    • Hi Shivam
      There is no clear guideline from UPSC for regular courses or part-time courses. However, if you are graduate from a govt-recognized university, you will be eligible for both the exams.

    • Hi
      The commission hasn’t put a cap on the number of attempts. Hence, one can give the examination within a mentioned age limit.

  14. i have pursued 5 year service in para military force and resign from this job, could i sit in MPPSC exam as an ex serviceman category. my native place is Gwalior and belong to sc cateory.

    • As per MPPSC notification, the relaxation offered to ex-servicemen is as per the M.P. Ex-Servicemen (Reservation of Vacancies in the State Civil Services and Posts Class III and Class IV) Rules, 1985. It states, “the upper age limit is relaxable for up to a maximum of 5 years: in case of Ex-servicemen and Commissioned officers including ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least five years military service as on 1st January preceding date of commencement of examination and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within six month from the said date ) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to Military service or on invalidment.”

  15. How many attempts are there in MPPSC SSE and FOREST SERVICES – 2020 for women candidates?

    • MPPSC hasn’t mentioned the cap on the number of attempts. The women candidates can sit for the examination until they reach the maximum age.
