RPSC RAS Exam Pattern For Prelims, Mains

The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) conducts the RAS/RTS exam for filling up Group A and Group B vacancies in the state administrative machinery.

The RAS Exam is officially referred to as Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Examination.

It is a highly competitive exam, and the right preparation strategy can only be formed after understanding the RAS Exam Pattern.

The pattern of RAS Exam is modelled loosely on the IAS Exam, which is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.

The Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Exam is conducted in three stages:

  1. RAS Pre (Preliminary)
  2. RAS Mains
  3. Interview/Viva-voce/Personality Test
Worried about how to prepare for the RAS Exam?

It is not very difficult to prepare for the  RAS Examination given you have the right strategy to prepare for the Rajasthan Administrative Services exam. The examination pattern is inclined towards the UPSC exam pattern and various topics included in the RAS exam syllabus are also broadly covered in the IAS exam. The right books, notes, and preparation tips are mentioned at the RAS preparation post. Candidates can check the post and learn how to prepare for the examination and increase the chances to crack it in the first attempt.

Scheme/Pattern Of RAS Exam

In the new exam pattern of RAS Exam, the Maths based questions have been removed from RAS Mains. This change was introduced in 2018, and the upcoming RAS Mains 2018 will be held as per the new pattern.

The first stage of the RAS exam is the Prelims. The RAS Pre Exam is a screening test which shortlists candidates for the Main stage of the exam.

Unlike the UPSC IAS Prelims, the RAS Pre consists of only one paper.
