PRMO Application Form

The Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad (PRMO) is a qualifying examination for the second round of Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) examination. The Mathematical Olympiad examination includes 5 stages, with PRMO being the first stage examination. The final stage is the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) for which around 6 students will be representing India.

How to apply for PRMO 2022-2023?

  • All the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya and other registered schools can apply through the schools.
  • The registration period for PRMO will begin at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, most likely in the month of October 2022.
  • Students who want to apply individually or in groups should apply from any of the registration centres listed in the PRMO examination portal.
  • The application fee will be Rs. 125 for the Kendriya Vidyalaya students and Rs. 100 for Jawahar Navodya Vidyalaya students. The fee is Rs. 230 for students from other schools. All KV and JNV students have to register through their schools to avail the reduced fee. 

Details to fill on the Application Form

  • Personal details of the candidates like Full Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Address, Phone Number and Email ID should be filled.
  • The students should also fill educational details like Class, School Name, Address in the form.

After the form is filled the students are advised to recheck the details before putting the signature and submitting the form. An acknowledgement slip is given to the student by the registration centre after the form is submitted.

What is the cost of registration?

Non-KV and non-JNV students must pay a registration fee of Rs. 230/-. The fee for KV students is Rs. 125/-, while the charge for JNV students is Rs. 100/-.

What are the primary requirements for Pre-RMO registration?

To be eligible for Pre-RMO, applicants must have been born on or after August 1, 2001. Pre-RMO 2022 is open to students in grades 8 to 12. The applicant must be an Indian citizen or have an OCI card. Candidates having OCI cards, on the other hand, would not be considered for the Indian team in the International Mathematical Olympiad.

How many questions are asked in PRMO?

The PRMO is a three-hour written exam with around 30 questions. Each question will have a single or double-digit response. Students will be given OMR papers to write their answers. Partially completed selections will not be counted, even if they are accurate, because the OMR sheets will be reviewed electronically. As a result, students are highly encouraged to correctly fill up their replies on their OMR sheets.
