Given

The numbers 6, 72 and 120

Find out

We have to determine the LCM of 6, 7 and 120

Solution

Let us determine the LCM by prime factorisation method

The prime factorization of 6 is 2 × 3.

The prime factorization of 72 is 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 =23 × 32

The prime factorisation of 120 is 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5= 23 × 31 x 5

23 × 31 x 5 are the greatest powers of the prime factors 2, 3 and 5 respectively involved in the three numbers.

So, LCM (6, 72, 120) =23×32×51=360

Answer

LCM (6, 72, 120) =23×32×51=360
