RRB Group D 2020 – Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs) has postponed the RRB Group-D 2021 Exam (RRC 01/2019) due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in India. An official notice related to all Railway exams has been released by the Railway Recruitment Board on 31st May 2021. Earlier, the RRB Group-D exam was scheduled to be conducted from April to June 2021. Candidates can check the official notices released by the Railway Board – 

The RRB Group D Exam for CBT I was scheduled to start from December 15th 2020 but the Railway Board Chairman and CEO Vinod Kumar Yadav announced the new dates for RRB Group D exam. The RRB will now conduct the RRC Group-D Level-I exam from April to June 2021.

RRB Group D Recruitment

The RRB Group D recruitment is done by the RRC – Railway Recruitment Cells. The RRB on behalf of the RRC holds RRB Group D recruitment. The RRB Group D recruitment is announced by the Railway Board through Railway Group D official notification.

The recruitment notification for RRC Group D exam 2021 is not yet announced by the railway board. Currently, the railway recruitment of RRB Group D 2019 exam is in process and the exam is scheduled in April 2021. Candidates who have applied for the RRC Group D 2019 exam are awaiting the admit card for the same. The details of recruitment for RRB Group D exam and RRB Group D exam dates are discussed below.

The RRB Group D exam dates are announced with the release of RRB Group D notification. The exam dates for RRB Group D are decided by the Railway Recruitment Board itself.

RRB Group D 2019 Exam Dates

The notification for RRB Group D 2019 released on 23rd February 2019. Important dates for RRB Group D exam 2019 are given below.

RRB Group D Vacancy

The Railway Board conducts RRB Group D recruitment region-wise, therefore the RRB Group D vacancies released along with the notification are also given region-wise. The RRC Group D vacancy for 2021 will be announced after the release of the notification.

Given below are the details of RRB Group D Vacancy for the ongoing recruitment of 2019 exam.

As per the official Notification, the railway board released 103769 RRB Group D vacancy to recruit personnel for various posts such as Helper/Assistant, Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Assistant Pointsman, Level I posts through RRB Group D exam.

Besides these, the total number of RRB Group D vacancies for reserved category candidates such as PwBD is 4,326, Backward PwBD is 112 and ExSM/CCAA is 20,734.

RRB Group D vacancy 2018

Candidates willing to apply for RRB Group D exam are required to fulfil certain conditions to be eligible to appear for the Railway Group D exam.

The conditions for RRB Group D eligibility are decided by the conduction body itself. The eligibility criteria important for candidates to fulfil are prescribed in detail in the RRB Group D official notification.

The candidate’s eligibility for RRB Group D exam is based on the fulfilment of the following conditions:

1. Nationality
2. RRB Group D Age Limit
3. RRB Group D Qualification

The highlights of RRB Group D eligibility criteria are given below:

RRB Group D Nationality

A candidate is eligible to appear for RRB Group D exam only if he/she is:

1. A citizen of India, or
2. A subject of Nepal, or
3. A subject of Bhutan, or
4. A Tibetan refugee permanently settled in India from and before January 1, 1962.
5. A person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Zambia, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) present a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India to the recruiting body.

RRB Group D Age Limit

The Railway Recruitment Board has set the RRB Group D Lower Age limit to 18 years and that of RRB Group D maximum age limit is 33 years. Any candidates beyond the age limit extremes as prescribed by the Railway Board will not be allowed to appear for the examination.

As prescribed in the notification, RRB Group D Age Limit for candidates in the RRB Group D 2020-21 examination is to be reckoned from 1st July 2019.

Candidates appearing for RRB Group D 2020 examination must have their date of birth between 1st July 2019 and the dates given in the table below.

Note* – Candidates should fill the same date of birth in the application form as recorded in the Matriculation/ Class 10th certificate or an equivalent certificate because no subsequent request for changing the date of birth will be considered.

The candidates belonging to reserved categories are entitled to certain relaxation on the RRB Group D Age Limit criteria.

1. If a candidate is eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground, he would be accorded the highest of the limits (not cumulative) for which he is eligible.
2. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL (Non-Creamy Layer) and applying against unreserved vacancies will not be allowed any relaxation on age.
3. PwBD candidates applying against UR vacancies will be allowed age relaxation applicable for UR PwBD only

RRB Group D Education Qualification

The minimum qualification mandatory for candidates to possess for RRB group D exam is set by the Railway Recruitment Board.

The minimum education qualification that the board expects from candidates in order to be eligible for RRB Group D examination is 10th pass (OR) ITI from institutions recognised by NCVT/SCVT (or) equivalent (OR) National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

The basic RRB Group D Salary is decided by the recruitment board. Railway Group D salary for any candidate selected i.e. the initial pay scale of RRB Group D Level 1 employees is ₹18000/ per month based on 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

RRB Group D Notification

The Railway Recruitment Board Releases RRB Group D notification to recruit eligible candidates to fill the vacancies in the different departments of Indian Railways for level 1 posts of 7th CPC pay matrix.

The last Railway Group D notification was RRB Group D 2019-20 notification released on 23rd February 2019. The examination for the same is scheduled to happen in April 2021.

Since the notification is not released, RRB Group D 2021 online application window is not open yet.

As prescribed in the official notification of RRB Group D exam, the online application for RRB Group D 2019 started from 12th March 2019. The last date for the final submission of the RRB Group D application forms was 26th April 2019.

2. Click on the link “Railway Group D Recruitment Notification”.
3. Read the instructions given carefully and click on “Apply Online button”.
4. Select “New Registration” if applying for the first time and not registered before.
5. Fill up all the details asked such as personal, contact details and academic details.
6. Upload scanned photograph and signature in the necessary format and size.
7. Make the payment of the RRB Group D application form fee (details are given below).
8. Recheck the information provided and Submit the RRB Group D online application form.
9. Take the print out of RRB Group D application form for future reference.
